Programs

Whittier First Day offers a comprehensive range of services designed to support individuals experiencing homelessness on their path to stability and independence. At the heart of our work are our Interim Housing Programs: Ted’s Place in Whittier, the Hondo Center for Healing in Downey, Pathway Home in Santa Fe Springs, and the Midvale Tiny Home Village in West Los Angeles, each providing safe, supportive, and service-rich environments.

Across all sites, we deliver trauma-informed care, harm reduction services, and intensive case management tailored to the unique needs of those we serve, including individuals who are justice-involved or living with chronic health and behavioral health challenges. Through this holistic approach, we help clients build the foundation for long-term stability and a place to call home.

Permanant Housing Program

Established in 2009, our Permanent Housing Program provides long-term, affordable housing for households transitioning out of homelessness and into stable housing. Located in the City of Whittier, the property consists of three residential units and currently serves three families. Rent is adjusted based on annual household income to help ensure housing remains affordable and accessible. By providing a stable place to call home, the program helps families maintain housing and build a foundation for long-term stability and independence.
